Medical Imaging Techniques
This course is an introduction to techniques and methodologies for medical imaging and reconstruction. It provides the means to connect knowledge about technical capacity and its limitations with medical and clinical requests for image information.
Prerequisites
M.Sc.or equivalent graduate level. The course is designed for students with e.g. medical and technical background.
Course contents
Technical and clinical issues on X-ray, Computed Tomography (CT), ultrasound, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and optical imaging. The course at graduate level includes lectures, group discussions and computer laboratory work (5 p). An alternative course plan for participants from e.g. industry and health care includes exclusively the lectures (2 p).
