Chunliang Wang "Level-set runs slow: diagnosis and treatment" Thord Andersson: "Using semi-supervised learning for liver segmentation"

Dear all,

Welcome to a CMIV  PhD-student seminar on Monday 18/4 16.00 in Wrannesalen.

The PhD students is also invited to a PhD student meeting in fikarummet at CMIV 30 minutes before the seminar.

The presenters are:

Thord Andersson: "Using semi-supervised learning for liver segmentation"

Chunliang Wang "Level-set runs slow: diagnosis and treatment"

Chair:

Johan Kihlberg

Abstract for Chunliangs presentation:

Patient: Level-set, 23 year old
Symptom: Runs slow especially during 3D segmentation
History: After several plastic surgeries, Level-set lost some weight, and became narrow band or sparse field level-set. The performance improved a lot but is still not satisfactory for clinical use.
Diagnosis: Temporary backwards propagation causes wiggling behavior and slows down the propagation.
Treatment: Coherent propagation
Prognosis: 10 times speed up for 3D brain segmentation on CPU. 30 times speed up for vessel segmentation.
