Anders Persson

Anders Persson is the Director of the Center for Medical Image Science and Visualization (CMIV) and Professor at Linköping University, Sweden. Persson has a solid clinical background as a radiologist and has worked actively as Senior Physician since 1993. Persson is an internationally recognized pioneer in medical imaging, in particular regarding advancing the state-of-the-art of clinical work with Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Post-Mortem Imaging. He has held over 350 invited talks and written seven book chapters on related subjects. Persson defended his doctoral dissertation “Volume Imaging of the Abdomen Three-Dimensional Visualization of Tubular Structures in the Body with CT and MRI” in 2005 at Linköping University. He has authored or co-authored more than 100 refereed academic publications. He has received several awards, most notably the Knowledge Award 2010 for best public knowledge dissemination in Sweden, the Athena Award 2009 for best clinical medical research in Sweden, and the Lennart Nilsson Award 2008 for outstanding image creation.
