Installation of the CMIV VR theatre
The installation of the new CMIV VR theatre is being is scheduled to be complete by September 30. The solution has been delivered by SGI. It is a backprojection system with an Infitec filter for stereo separation. The projectors come from Barco.
Summer School on Level Set Methods and ITK
The SSBA summer school on level set methods and ITK (Insight Segmentation and Registration Toolkit) is arranged 22-24 of August by the Medical Informatics group at the Department of Medical Engineering. Ken Museth (ITN, Linköping University) and Karl Krissian (LMI, Brigham & Women´s Hospital / Harvard Medical School) are invited speakers and around 30 people are atteding the course, including both PhD students and representatives from industry.
Medical Applications Workshop
A workshop on medical applications was arranged 8-10 of June at IMT/CMIV as a part of the European SIMILAR Network of Excellence. The workshop was hosted by the Medical Informatics group, Department of Biomedical Engineering, led by Prof. Hans Knutsson. A total of 37 researchers from all over Europe participated and the workshop was a great success.

The official opening of CMIV
Wednesday the 16th of March, the Center for Medical Image Science and Visualization, CMIV, is officially opened by minister for education, research and culture, Leif Pagrotsky.

PhD thesis defense
Friday 3/12 at 9:00am Carljohan Carlhäll defends his PhD thesis "Annular Dynamics of the Human Heart - Novel Echocardiographic Approaches to Assess Ventricular Function". The location is Elsa Brändströmssalen, Universitetssjukhuset i Linköping.
