Welcome to CMIV
CMIV conducts focused front-line research within multidisciplinary projects providing solutions to tomorrow’s clinical issues. The mission is to develop future methods and tools for image analysis and visualization for applications within health care and medical research. CMIV research on TV
On August 16 a report from the CMIV research on whole body fat imaging and abdominal fat quantification was broadcasted on TV4 Öst. The project is a collaboration between CMIV researchers and the CMIV spin off company ADVANCED MR ANALYTICS (AMRA AB).
Dr Petter Dyverfeldt awarded the Fulbright Scholarship
Petter Dyverfeldt, a researcher in the cardiovascular MR group at CMIV (www.liu.se/cmr), has been awarded the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship to pursue post-doctoral research in the United States. Dr. Dyverfeldt will be hosted by Professor David Saloner at the University of California San Francisco.

NOVA is the highest rated science series on television and the most watched documentary series on public television. It can be seen on the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) in the United States, and in more than 100 other countries. They visit CMIV July 14-16 to make a documentary program.
CMIV announces a new spinoff company in medical imaging
ADVANCED MR ANALYTICS (AMRA AB) is the most recent of CMIV’s spin-off companies in the area of frontline medical diagnostics. The company was created by researchers in the Radiation Physics and Medical Informatics groups at Linköping University, combining expertise in both magnetic resonance physics and image processing. The new company will provide solutions primarily in the field of advanced whole body magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The owners of the new company, Olof Dahlqvist Leinhard, Magnus Borga, Andreas Johansson, and Peter Lundberg are devoted to offering significantly more accurate and quantitative measurements for bringing the diagnostic power of MRI-examinations to new heights. The future applications are ranging from diagnostics, to following up therapy, and also rapid screening methods for populations at risk.
Top ranked CMIV poster at Human Brain Mapping
Maria Engström, Thomas Karlsson and Anne-Marie Landtblom presented two posters at the Human Brain Mapping conference in Barcelona, June 6-10. " An fMRI investigation of mental effort in a complex working memory task" and "Working memory functional connectivity in periodic hypersomnia (KLS)" The latter poster was one of the top ranked posters at HMB 2010.
Medical research scholarship to PhD student Nils Dahlström
Radiologist and CMIV PhD student Nils Dahlström receives Lions scholarship for medical research for his project "Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the Liver and Biliary System Using Hepatobiliary Contrast Agents".
The Virtual Autopsy Table at House of Sweden
The spring theme "Health & Care" is running from March 25 to June 6, 2010 at the Swedish Embassy in Washington. The main focus is how to create health care system that are both cost effective and capable of handling current and future challenges. March 27-May 2 the Virtual Autopsy Table is part of the exhibition.
Minister for Trade at CMIV
On Friday, March 26, the Minister for Trade, Ewa Björling, from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, visited CMIV. Professor Anders Ynnerman and CMIV Ph D student and radiologist Nils Dahlström showed her around the department and gave her some examples of the research conducted at CMIV. She also had the opportunity to try out the Virtual Autopsy Table.
