The Athena Prize 2009 goes to CMIV and the clinical research on virtual autopsies
The prize goes to good examples of clinical research creating patient benefit. Anders Persson and Anders Ynnerman at CMIV are honoured with the Athena Prize for their development of new advanced methods regarding visualization and medical imaging. The most noted project is the application of virtual autopsies, which is already in use in forensic science.

Have a look at the Virtual Autopsy Table
Norrköping Visualization Center in cooperation with CMIV have developed a Virtual Autopsy Table within the Visualization Program, funded by the Knowledge Foundation, the Vårdal Foundation, VINNOVA, Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research, and Invest in Sweden Agency. The demonstrator will be shown in Japan in October, when the Visualization Program will meet with Japanese industry at the Swedish Embassy in Tokyo.
Visiting Professor Bud Craig at CMIV
Professor Craig is a functional anatomist interested in the representation of feelings from the body. He will participate in fMRI research projects at CMIV.
Inauguration of the Somatom Definition Flash
On September 30, 2009, the Somatom Definition Flash by Siemens was inaugurated at CMIV by the rector of Linköping University, Mille Millnert.
CMIV contribution won Poster of the Day at MICCAI
Within "Neuroimage Analysis: Structure and Function" the work by Anders Eklund, Henrik Ohlsson, Mats Andersson, Joakim Rydell, Anders Ynnerman and Hans Knutsson entitled " Using Real-Time fMRI to Control a Dynamic System by Brain Activity Classification" was awarded Poster of the Day at MICCAI, London, September 22.

CMIV represented at MICCAI, London
Prof Hans Knutsson will present a work with the title "Using Real-Time fMRI to Control a Dynamic System by Brain Activity Classification" made by Anders Eklund et al. at MICCAI, International Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention, in London, September 20-24.
